Consultancy Supervision

Clinical Supervision

The PUMB offers and provides consultancy clinical supervision to a range of practitioners, which may include Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Alternative Therapists, Nurses and Social Workers. Supervision is offered from various formats, which includes; one-to-one individual supervision, dyadic ( i.e. 2 supervisees per session) and group supervision (i.e. 3 supervisees per session). Dyadic and group supervision models are recognised approaches that have shown to be cost effective for individuals and small organisations that require this type of supervision.

What is Supervision?

The application of supervision has many variations which is needed to facilitate the professional requirements of the supervisee. Professional supervision is therefore suggested to be a formal arrangement between professionals (i.e. supervisor and supervisee) that meet on a regular basis to explore related client/patient work. It is a process that helps supervisees maintain professional practice standards, normally with an experienced practitioner and is a means of passing on professional knowledge, skills and attitudes to supervisees.

The PUMB offers supervision to a range of practitioners working in private practice or in organisational settings. The models of supervision approaches offered include; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and the Professional Development Model.

All supervision provided works in accordance with the professional body and the related guidelines and practice standards, which the supervisee is associated with and must adhere to. The application of supervision remains a confidential process with the exception of child protection issues and related concerns about a supervisee’s standard of practice.
